About Our Leaders
Coach-Captain - Paul Hernandez - The
most experienced of the group, after playing for Bucknell
University and Media Men's Club, has been coaching the entire
Men's club as well as the Women's Pack. The 6' 225lb Hooker leads
a front row that exceeds 800lbs.
Coach-Captain - Ali Yeager -
A transfer from Swathemore College, is the only woman on the team
with Rugby Experience. With the power of a Wing Forward and the
speed of a Wing, Ali settled in at Flyhalf to connect the
inexperienced pack to the backs.
Coach - Gabe Lerman - A
Sophomore who last played for Conestoga H.S. in Main Line
Pennsylvania, directs the Backs from the ScrumHalf spot. Gabe
also help direct the Women's backs as well.
Captain - Chris Kanuck -
The power of the pack comes from Kanuck. Not the biggest of the
pack but definitly one of the strongest. From Wing Forward, Chris
helps the pack from just going were ever Paul goes.
Advisor - Jim Flaherty -
A friend of Kanuck, Jim has spent countless hours at Ursinus
helping our backs flow as a single unit. Jim's kicking ability
has also greatly aided the growing abilities of the Shockers.
Faculty Advisor - Bill Racich -
As Head Coach of the dominating Ursinus Wrestling Team, Racich
has also played Rugby for years including a ten year position as
President of the Powerhouse Philly-Whitemarsh Rugby Club.
